	THe uss William h. Bates (SSN 680) Association
Eric Hudnell Crosses the Bar Visitor ,  It saddens me to report the passing of another shipmate, TM2(SS/DV) Eric "Hobb" Hudnell, a torpedoman on the USS William H. Bates (SSN 680) from April of 1978 to September of 1981. Michael Jack informed us via Facebook that his friend, Eric, passed away this morning after losing the battle with cancer, leaving behind a wife, two daughters and their husbands, and four grandchildren. No services are planned at this time, and I will keep you informed of any updates. If you have any photos of Eric or information that can be included in his Honors page, please forward it to me.   Our shipmate has passed on before us. Whether by enemy action, the remorseless sea, or the ravages of time and age,  we must accept that God has called you to where we cannot yet follow. We commend your body to the deep, and your soul to God Almighty. May God grant you fair winds and following seas. Godspeed, shipmate. We will miss you...
