REGROUPEX 25 BECOMES REGROUPEX 26

It is now the 2nd of September, and summer is effectively over, leaving me wondering how it vanished so quickly. By now, you’ve probably given up hope on REGROUPEX 25, and rightly so. Only four months left in the year, and about half of that will focus on the holiday season, which leaves little room at the inn for a submarine reunion.

Time and circumstances have conspired against us, and it is with some reluctance that I officially ‘pull the plug’ on an east coast REGROUPEX 25. As much as I wanted to make it happen this year, I simply was not able to accomplish the task and deliver the reunion experience you have come to expect.

Yes, it’s true - my act is a hard act to follow, and I would rather postpone until next year than deliver a ‘less than adequate’ experience that would compete with your holiday plans.

So, REGROUPEX 25 becomes REGROUPEX 26.

I will diligently prosecute new plans, and target late spring - early summer, May or June, and keep you advised of the progress.

Until then, stay up to date at www.ssn-680.org.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

See you in the spring!

THE COLD WAR BOATS ASSOCIATION

The Cold War Boats Association exists in service to the men who served on the submarines of the United States Navy's Submarine Service between the end of World War II and the demise of the Soviet Union in December, 1992, those sailors that supported them, their families, friends, and associates.

  • Assisting shipmates from years ago in reconnecting, simply, easily, and without compromising their privacy,
  • Preserving the unclassified history of Cold War submarine crews and their boats in the form of photographs, stories, artifacts, and audio or video recordings, and
  • Honoring the sailors and families who sacrificed so much to help bring an end to the Cold War.
